Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Hanafin — the issue of restrictions on the use of jet skis and the need to introduce some safety guidelines; (2) Deputy Connaughton — the subject matter of animal health regulations S.I. No. 9 of 1996 and, in particular, number 3 and 4 of the animal health requirements contained therein; (3) Deputy Gerard Reynolds — the need to make urgent provision of finance to Sligo Corporation for works to be carried out on the houses in Banks Drive, Sligo; (4) Deputy Gormley — the issue of the ‘pick me up' mechanism that has been widely deployed to facilitate party political fundraising and which may have led to tax evasion; (5) Deputy Naughten — the need to immediately provide adequate swimming pool facilities in County Roscommon in light of a recent accident in the county; (6) Deputy Deenihan — the crisis facing 2,000 Kerry farmers with quotas under 35,000 gallons because of super-levy payments; (7) Deputy Fitzgerald — the urgent need to discuss the future of the Air Corps and Naval Service in light of reports in today's newspapers and to make a statement on the publication date of the Price Waterhouse report; (8) Deputy McCormack — the Government's intentions in relation to seeking Objective 1 status for the 13 counties comprising the west, Border counties and the four midland counties of Longford, Westmeath, Laois and Offaly; (9) Deputy O'Shea — the need to ask the Minister for Education and Science when his Department will provide an educational psychological service to primary schools in the Waterford constituency; (10) Deputy Gilmore — the need to review the exploration licence for a company, Enterprise Oil, in view of the company's refusal to employ any Irish workers; (11) Deputy Keaveney — the difficulties facing pig producers due to reduced slaughtering capacity and the proposals the Minister for Agriculture and Food has to encourage the provision of additional slaughtering facilities, particularly in the Border region; (12) Deputy Brendan Smith — the difficulties facing pig producers due to reduced slaughtering capacity and the proposals the Minister for Agriculture and Food has to encourage the provision of additional slaughtering facilities, particularly in the Border region.

The matters raised by Deputies Connaughton, Keaveney and Brendan Smith, Gormley and Naughten have been selected for discussion.
