Vol. 493 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Michael Ring

Question:

138 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for surgery to alleviate the rheumatoid arthritis in her joints in view of the fact that in February 1998 the health board stated that she would be called within three to four months. [15498/98]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Mayo in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
