200 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the harsh penalty of 100 per cent imposed on a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that a simple mistake was made and he accepts responsibility for the error. [15679/98]

The herdowner lodged an appeal concerning his 1997 suckler cow/cattle headage application on 3 March 1998. Appeals are dealt with in the order in which they are received and require individual examination. This appeal will be examined in due course and the herdowner will be notified of the outcome.

201 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when an appeal regarding 1997 cattle headage will be finalised for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [15680/98]

The herdowner lodged an appeal on 30 December 1997 concerning his 1997 cattle headage application. Appeals are dealt with in the order in which they are received and require individual examination. This appeal will be examined in due course and the herdowner will be notified of the outcome.
