Vol. 493 No. 3

Written Answers. - Health Centres.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

296 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason his Department officials are refusing to sanction finance for the equipment necessary for a new health centre in Dunshaughlin, County Meath; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the centre has been completed since early 1998 and that his officials were aware in 1997 that this would be the case and they are continuing to refuse to provide the funding and give approval to the North-Eastern Health Board; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16137/98]

The equipping requirements for the project referred to by the Deputy have been the subject of ongoing discussions between my Department and the North-Eastern Health Board in recent months. I understand that the task of specifying the equipment required for the unit involved should be completed in the near future.
