Vol. 493 No. 3

Written Answers. - Local Development Plans.

Deirdre Clune

Question:

328 Ms Clune asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will ensure that local authorites who make changes to their development plans notify members of the public in their area who have outline planning permission or full planning permission in view of the fact that this may impact on an individual's planning permission. [16101/98]

Under the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1963, planning authorities must engage in a process of public notification and information when reviewing or varying a development plan, including publication of notice of the draft plan in at least one newspaper circulating in the area. The plan must also be made available for public inspection for a period of not less than three months. The whole issue of public involvement in the development plan process is currently under consideration as part of my comprehensive review of the planning Acts.
