Question:394 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the position in relation to a Land Registry application (details supplied) in County Donegal. [15990/98]
Written Answers. - Registration of Title.
I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this dealing refers to an application under section 49, i.e. acquisition of title by virtue of long possession, of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, which was lodged on 25 July 1997. I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49, which require detailed examination of claims for registration as owners, take some time to process.
I am further informed that the Land Registry issued queries on this dealing to the applicant's solicitor on 19 June 1998 and replies are awaited. The queries raised must be satisfactorily discharged before the matter can proceed. Accordingly, it is not possible to estimate a completion date for the application concerned at this stage.
