Question:

429 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will increase the percentage of lottery funding allocated to youth groups in view of the fact that many of these groups play an important role with youth development and deal with major social issues in the community; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Additional funding is being sought for youth service provision for 1998 and in the event of such funding becoming available, the level of support made available to youth organisations will be then reviewed.
