470 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science the allocation of guidance teachers at second level including, for each school, size category; the total number of guidance teachers in whole time equivalents; and the number of pupils served. [16067/98]

The ex-quota allocation to second level schools in respect of guidance for a particular school year is determined by the enrolment at the end of September in the preceding year as follows:

800 - 999	1.5
500 - 799	1.0
250 - 499	0.5
200 - 249	0.4
150 - 199	0.3
100 - 149	0.2
	0.1

Details of the number of schools in the various enrolment categories, the allocation in respect of guidance and the enrolments in those schools are being compiled and will be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as possible.
