Question:132 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the proposed sewerage scheme for Laghey, County Donegal. [16509/98]
Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.
An application has been submitted to the European Commission for Cohesion Fund assistance for the Donegal Bay wastewater management scheme, which included Laghey as part of stage 2 of the application. As approval has not yet been received even for stage 1 of the scheme, and as there is no other source of funding available for the Laghey scheme, I cannot say when it may be possible to advance the scheme.

Question:133 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the progress, if any, made regarding the provision of an urgently required sewerage scheme for Ardara, County Donegal. [16510/98]
Cohesion funding has been sought for this scheme as part of an application submitted to the EU Commission in respect of the Gaeltacht area sewerage scheme in County Donegal. Approval has not been forthcoming and the prospects of funding under the current Cohesion Fund are not good. In view of this and given the high level of commitments under the water and sewerage services investment programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve this proposal.

Question:134 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position in relation to the augmentation of an adequate water supply to Rossnowlagh, County Donegal, in view of the fact that there are some days when the area is left without any supply. [16511/98]
The planning of water supplies to local areas is the responsibility of the relevant local authority. There are no proposals before my Department for a scheme for this area.
