139 Mr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when funding will be provided for a water supply augmentation scheme at Carrickmacross, County Monaghan; the position in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16546/98]

A brief for the Carrickmacross water supply augmentation scheme has been submitted to my Department. Given the high level of commitments under the water and sewerage services investment programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve this proposal.
