Question:160 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the position regarding the proposed new Garda station at Ballyshannon, County Donegal. [16550/98]

It is proposed to build a new district headquarters station at Ballyshannon. A number of possible sites have been identified and the Office of Public Works is actively seeking to acquire a suitable location to meet Garda requirements. It is not possible to say at this stage when work will commence as it is subject to overall priorities and the availability of finance.
