Vol. 494 No. 4

Written Answers. - Crop Losses.

Michael Ring

Question:

202 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo, who suffered severe flooding, was judged to be over the limit by only owning nine acres of land and 180 acres of shared commonage for the purposes of compensation under the weather related crop losses scheme. [18602/98]

The application from the person in question was rejected as being ineligible under the criteria relating to forage area. I am having a reassment made of this particular case.

Question:

203 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has only been awarded £286 aid under category F of the schemes of assistance for weather related crop losses when his actual loss exceeded £1,200; and if his Department will review his application. [18603/98]

I had this application re-examined. I can confirm that a further payment is being made to the applicant.
