Vol. 494 No. 4

Written Answers. - Arterial Drainage Schemes.

Phil Hogan

Question:

264 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Finance the position on the provision of finance for the arterial drainage scheme in Kilkenny city; when the plans will be published and when work will commence on this scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18465/98]

Finance is being provided in Sub-head H1 of Vote 10 for the Office of Public Works to enable the design of a drainage scheme for Kilkenny City, which has been developed and which has been agreed by both Kilkenny County Council and Kilkenny Corporation, to be progressed to detailed design stage. It is envisaged that plans for a drainage scheme for Kilkenny city will reach public exhibition stage during 1999. Works on a scheme for Kilkenny city will be included in the drainage construction programme at the earliest possible opportunity.
