Vol. 494 No. 4

Written Answers. - Arterial Drainage Schemes.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

268 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Finance if he will provide the necessary funding to enable the Office of Public Works to carry out repairs to the concrete bank on a stream (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18621/98]

The Commissioners of Public Works' responsibilities are confined to the maintenance of arterial drainage schemes completed under the 1945 Arterial Drainage Act. The stream in question is not part of any completed scheme and the commissioners have no plans to undertake any work in the area.
