Vol. 494 No. 4

Written Answers. - Adult Education Centres.

Austin Currie

Question:

275 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Finance whether he will give favourable consideration to making the Garda station in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, which will soon be vavacted, available as an adult education centre; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18661/98]

This property is expected to be vacated by gardaí in December. Contacts are continuing with other Government Departments to determine whether it will be surplus to the State's requirements.

I met a deptuation of representatives of Blanchardstown Adult Education Centre, County Dublin Vocational Education Committee and Fingal County Council last July to discuss their interest in securing the use of the property as an adult education centre. This request will be given serious consideration if the property is surplus to requirements.
