68 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the proposals, if any, he has in respect of the provision of new fire stations in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19890/98]
In June 1998, Kildare County Councils revised tender proposal for a new fire station in Athy was approved by my Department.
The council has also submitted contract documents for a proposed new fire station in Naas and these are under consideration in my Department at present. Additional information in respect of this proposal was recently sought from the council and this is awaited.
