Vol. 495 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Willie Penrose

Question:

232 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children the steps, if any, he will take to ensure that a person (details supplied) in County Longford is admitted to Cappagh Hospital, Dublin 11, to have an orthopaedic procedure carried out; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20137/98]

The provision of medical treatment for eligible persons in County Longford is the statutory responsibility of the Midland Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive of the board to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
