Vol. 495 No. 4

Written Answers. - Garda Allowances.

Billy Timmins

Question:

53 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his Department has examined the feasibility of granting an outpost allowance to gardaí stationed in one man rural stations; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20178/98]

No application has been received in my Department for an allowance of the nature as set out in the question.

The Garda Conciliation Council, established under the Garda conciliation and arbitration scheme, is the forum where the relevant Garda representative bodies may process claims for allowances.
