The operation of the traps is kept under regular review by the Central Fisheries Board in light of ongoing stock assessment scientific advice and all other relevant factors. I have asked the Central Board to review with the North Western Regional Fisheries Board future operational strategies for the Moy Fishery, including the operation of the traps, in the context of progressing the overall arrangements for transfer of the management of the Fishery to the North Western Board.
