91 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if it is intended to hold elections to the regional fisheries boards in 1998; if so, the date these elections will take place; the plans, if any, he has to introduce reforms of the boards in advance of the elections; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have advised the Central and Regional Fisheries Boards that I intend to postpone the elections to the boards for a further 12 months in order to allow for completion and implementation of the current review of the inland fisheries service and legislative framework.
