98 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the estuaries in which salmon netting licences are granted; the number of these licences in each case; the number of wild salmon caught by commercial fishermen in each of the estuaries; the number of salmon caught by anglers on each of these rivers for the past ten years and to date in 1998; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The following table gives details of the commercial salmon drift and draft net licences issued for the 1998 season, by region.
I have asked the Central Fisheries Board to provide a breakdown of the following information, which I will forward to the Deputy when available: salmon drift and draft net licences, by estuary, commercial catch statistics for the 1998 season, angling catches for 1998 on the relevant rivers.
