Richard Bruton

Question:

156 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the amount paid by his Department to the Criminal Injuries Tribunal for each of the past five years. [22282/98]

Funding for the Criminal Injuries Compensation Tribunal is provided by my Department in three distinct ways, the general scheme of compensation, the prison officers compensation scheme and in the form of fees paid to members of the tribunal for deciding cases. I have set out in the following table the amounts expended in respect of each of these during the past five years.
