314 Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if the provisions of the Electoral Act, 1997, relating to disclosure of donations will apply for the local elections to be held in June 1999. [22609/98]
315 Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if the provisions of the Electoral Act, 1997, relating to limits of expenditure will apply for the local elections to be held in June 1999. [22610/98]
316 Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the sections of the Electoral Act, 1997, other than those relating to donations and limits of expenditure, which will apply to the local elections to be held in June 1999. [22611/98]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 314, 315 and 316 together.
I am considering whether section 72 of the Electoral Act, 1997, which provides for the making of regulations concerning donations and elevtion expenses at local elections should be commenced and regulations made under it for the local elections to be held next year. Part VII and sections 76 and 82 of the Electoral Act, 1997, will apply to the 1999 local elections.
