Vol. 496 No. 5

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Austin Currie

Question:

142 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the concern of Castleknock community college parents' association (details supplied) at the delay in commencing the construction of phase two at the college; the reason for this delay; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23261/98]

The planning and building unit of my Department is at present examining the final tender report for phase two of Castleknock community college.

This examination will be completed shortly following which the project will be ready to proceed to construction.

I can assure the Deputy that I will continue to ensure that this project receives priority attention and that the major increase in capital funding provided by this Government will enable it to proceed without delay.
