Vol. 496 No. 6

Control of Wildlife Hunting and Shooting (Non-Residents' Firearms Certificates) Bill, 1998: First Stage.

I move:

That leave be granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to amend the Firearms Act, 1925 and the Wildlife Act, 1976, in order to regulate the licensing of promoters and the granting of Firearms Certificates to non-residents for the purpose of hunting and shooting of wildlife (including game) by such persons in Ireland, and to provide for related matters.

Is the Bill opposed?

Since this is a Private Members' Bill, Second Stage must, under Standing Orders, be taken in Private Members' time.

I move: "That the Bill be taken in Private Members' time."

Question put and agreed to.
