I propose to take Questions Nos. 207 to 285, inclusive, together.
Since taking office, I have formally met, at their specific request, with representatives of the following organisations: Irish Amateur Swimming Association, Football Association of Ireland, Bord Lúthchleas na hÉireann, National Athletic and Cultural Association of Ireland, Irish Hockey Union, and the Irish Cricket Union.
Matters discussed at these meetings included the future development of their respective sports, including matters such as event planning, restructuring etc. There are no requests for meetings outstanding.
In addition, over the past year I have, of course, had extensive informal contacts with national governing bodies in the course of attendance, in my official capacity, at a wide range of sporting events.
Meanwhile, at my request. Mr. John Treacy, executive chairman of the Irish Sports Council, has met with all national governing bodies of sport, currently funded by my Department at least once during the past twelve months, as part of an ongoing programme of meetings to monitor progress and development of their respective sporting activities.
Later this month I will be hosting a one day conference for all national governing bodies to update them on policy developments.
