31 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if she has received the report on a strategic plan for the Irish Film Industry, particularly in regard to the section 481 measure; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [24790/98]
I expect that the think tank will present its final report to me early in the new year. This will incorporate a comprehensive evaluation of section 481 of the Taxes Consolidation Act, 1997, formerly section 35. The think tank presented me with an interim report in September recommending the continuation of section 481 given the fact that the statutory authority for this scheme expires at the end of the current fiscal year.
