88 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when the new application forms regarding installation aid for young farmers will be available; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24972/98]

Details of the new national scheme of installation aid will be announced shortly and I expect that the application forms will be available in the local offices of my Department before the end of the year.

Question:

90 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when the application forms will be available for the reintroduction of dairy hygiene grants; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24974/98]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 89 and 90 together.

My Department is in the process of drawing up the details of the new nationally funded schemes for the control of farm pollution and improvement of dairy hygiene standards which will be targeted towards those farmers most in need of assistance. This process will involve consultations with farming organisations. The terms of the new schemes will then have to be approved by the European Commission before they can come into operation. I hope to be able to launch both schemes in the first quarter of 1999.
