103 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if area aid problems will be resolved for a person (details supplied) in County Sligo; if a 1998 cattle headage payment will be made; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25058/98]
Difficulties have arisen in processing the area aid application for the person named and he will be notified. When these have been resolved, any payments due will issue as soon as possible.

The person named applied on 26 cows under the 1998 suckler cow premium scheme and 46 animals, including the 26 cows, under the 1998 cattle headage scheme. Six of the cows had invalid tag numbers. My Department wrote to the person named on 15 September 1998 and again on 23 September 1998 requesting correct tag numbers for the animals in question. To date no reply has been received from the person named. Eight of the animals applied on under the 1998 cattle headage scheme were not registered with the National Calf Birth Registration Service and the person named was written to by my Department on the 15 September 1998 requesting that the animals be registered. To date, only six of the animals have been registered. The remaining two animals will have to be registered and the six invalid tag numbers corrected before the applications can be processed further.
105 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will intervene on behalf of a person (details supplied) in County Sligo in relation to his area aid application; and if a favourable decision will be made in this case. [25060/98]
No area aid application was received from the person named in 1998. My Department will further examine the case if he can provide a postal certificate or a receipt from his local office indicating that the area aid application was submitted on time.
107 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in having area aid payments made to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford in view of the fact the application was submitted in April 1998. [25062/98]
Some overclaims have been identified in relation to the application of the person named. The application has been processed and any payment due will issue as soon as possible.
