118 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Education and Science the number of students at leaving certificate level who inspected their corrected scripts under the new arrangements in 1998; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25851/98]

Minister for Education and Science (Mr. Martin):

Out of a total of some 64,000 candidates who sat the leaving certificate examination this year, it is estimated that in the order of 7,400 availed of the opportunity to view their marked scripts.
