169 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason comprehensive discussion documents on the Government's treatment of asylum seekers and refugees have not been published; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26139/98]

Work is under way in my Department on an overview document which will set out in detail Ireland's approach on asylum and immigration issues. I hope that this document can be published early next year.
