I understand that the issue raised by the Deputy in relation to a focus on clean production, ecological sustainability and social responsibility is being addressed by the National Competitiveness Council in its work programme. In this context also, the environmental policies of competitor countries are being examined as part of the overall analysis by the council of competitiveness issues.
