John V. Farrelly

Question:

108 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a REP scheme payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26141/98]

The person concerned lodged a fourth year REPS application on 15 September 1998. The application was accompanied by a revised agri-environmental plan.

On examination of the revised plan, a discrepancy was noted in relation to the area claimed. My Department has sought an explanation for the discrepancy from the applicant's REPS planner and the application will be processed when this is received.

Willie Penrose

109 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if the early retirement scheme application for a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath will be immediately dealt with and payment issued; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26144/98]

Payment of the pension in this case will commence in December retrospective to 1 January 1998 the date of valid application.

Gerry Reynolds

Question:

110 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim will receive a 1998 cattle headage grant. [26145/98]

The area aid application for the person named has been processed and any payments due will issue as soon as possible.

Jim Higgins

Question:

111 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason the balance of livestock grants due to a person (details supplied) in County Galway has not been paid. [26146/98]

: The person concerned submitted an area aid application with a total claim of 43.21 Ha. This included a parcel of land which, when digitised, was less than the area claimed for that parcel. A penalty was therefore applied in respect of that overclaim.

My Department is issuing a letter and maps to the person concerned. These maps should be examined and corrected if necessary. My Department will review this case in the light of any additional information received.
