Vol. 498 No. 1

Written Answers. - Agricultural Schemes.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

165 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will review his decision in relation to exempting farmers in the district electoral divisions (details supplied) in County Donegal in view of the considerable hardship they are facing due to reduced prices, poor harvest weather and the additional information available from his field administrative staff. [26410/98]

The areas covered by the fodder scheme are the worst affected areas identified by Teagasc in its September survey. While some farmers in other areas were also affected by the fodder problem, assistance under the scheme is targeted at those who suffered the most hardship.
