Vol. 498 No. 1

Written Answers. - Agricultural Schemes.

Charles Flanagan

Question:

167 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he has received an application under the fodder scheme from the Shannon Callows, County Offaly, an area designated as handicapped status; if he will make an appropriate order allowing for payment under the scheme in view of the results lodged with his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26421/98]

The fodder scheme is being targeted at the worst affected areas identified by Teagasc in its September survey. While other areas were also affected by the fodder difficulties, including the area referred to in County Offaly, the aim of the scheme is to provide assistance to those who suffered the most hardship.
