Vol. 498 No. 1

Written Answers. - International Trade.

Enda Kenny

Question:

88 Mr. Kenny asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the trade figures between Ireland and Iceland over the past three years; the proposals, if any, she has to improve the situation; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [26811/98]

The value of Ireland's merchandise trade with Iceland totalled £13 million in 1995, £21 million in 1996 and £22 million in 1997. The promotion of Ireland's exports to Iceland is the responsibility of Enterprise Ireland and I understand from it that exporters to Iceland are assisted on a one to one basis.
