Vol. 498 No. 3

Written Answers - Registration of Title.

Michael Creed

Question:

153 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if a dealing in the Land Registry will be expedited for a person (details supplied). [27142/98]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this dealing refers to an application under section 49, that is, acquisition of title by virtue of long possession, of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, which was lodged on 9 October 1998. I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49, which require detailed examination of claims for registration as owners, take some time to process. Accordingly, it is not possible to estimate a completion date for the application concerned at this stage.

This dealing has been marked expedite and will be completed as soon as possible.
