Vol. 498 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tax Rebates.

Ivan Yates

Question:

274 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Finance when a full income tax rebate will be issued to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; if payment will be expedited; and the amount due in this regard. [27630/98]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer's claim for a refund of income tax has been the subject of correspondence between the taxpayer's agents and the office of the Chief Inspector of Taxes. The amount of the tax refund due is expected to be finalised shortly and the Commissioners will then inform the Deputy directly.

Beverley Flynn

Question:

275 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Finance if a drain which runs alongside the land of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be cleared in view of the fact that it is causing serious flooding. [27631/98]

The drain in the land of the person was cleaned in 1997 while the drain downstream of his holding was cleaned in 1998. They are not, therefore, in need of cleaning at this time.
