Vol. 498 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Austin Deasy

Question:

311 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Health and Children if the case of a person (details supplied) in County Waterford who is awaiting heart by-pass surgery will be examined; and if he will ensure that there is no further delay in having this surgery carried out. [27560/98]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons, in this instance, is the statutory responsibility of St. James's Hospital. I have asked the chief executive officer of the hospital to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
