Vol. 498 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Willie Penrose

Question:

319 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children the steps, if any, he will take to have a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath admitted to Cappagh hospital, Dublin 11, for a hip replacement; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27662/98]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in this instance is the statutory responsibility of St. Mary's Orthopaedic Hospital, Cappagh. I have asked the secretary/manager of the hospital to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
