359 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs the cost of paying the Christmas bonus, at the current level, to those in receipt of short-term social welfare benefits. [27815/98]

The estimated cost of providing a Christmas bonus, equivalent to 70 per cent of the normal weekly payment subject to a minimum payment of £20, to those on certain short-term schemes is illustrated below.
