67 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if his German counterpart raised the question of tax harmonisation at any recent formal or informal discussions at the EU General Affairs Council; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27745/98]

The German Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Fischer, has not raised tax co-ordination issues at any recent EU General Affairs Council.

Taxation issues are a matter in the first instance for the ECOFIN Council, and fall, therefore, within the responsibility of the Minister for Finance.
