Vol. 498 No. 4

Written Answers. - South-East Task Force.

Austin Deasy

Question:

88 Mr. Deasy asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the members of the south-east task force established following the closure of the AWG plant in Dungarvan, County Waterford; if she has a personal representative on this task force; if not, if she will appoint such a person; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [27555/98]

The members of the south-east task force, established by the Avonmore Waterford Group in December 1997, are as follows:—

Donal Connolly (Chairman), Waterford County Manager.

Pat Dineen (Secretary), Human Resources Manager (Ireland), Avonmore Waterford Group.

Mary Dorgan, Regional Director, FÁS.

Gerard Enright, Chief Executive Officer, Waterford County Enterprise Board.

Colm Hackett, Regional Director, Enterprise Ireland.

Toss Hayes, Chief Executive Officer, Tipperary County Enterprise Board.

Pat Loftus, Regional Manager, IDA Ireland.

Jim O'Dwyer, Human Resources Manager, SmithKline Beecham, (representing Dungarvan Chamber of Commerce).

Matt Walsh, Deputy Group Managing Director, Avonmore Waterford Group.

I do not have a personal representative on the task force and I do not consider it necessary to appoint such a person. However, the task force includes representatives from the development agencies under the aegis of my Department and I am kept informed of progress made in achieving its objectives.
