Vol. 498 No. 6

Written Answers - Hospital Services.

Question:

122 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will reply further to Parliamentary Question No. 418 of 3 November 1998 in relation to access by visit and telephone to a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28158/98]

I have been informed by the Eastern Health Board that a reply is being prepared in relation to the matter raised by the Deputy and will issue directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.

Michael Ring

Question:

123 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will not be operated on before Christmas; and if he will intervene in this regard. [28160/98]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in this instance is the statutory responsibility of Beaumont Hospital. I have asked the chief executive officer of the hospital to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
