142 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if a sum has been allocated to Wexford County Council in the 1999 financial arrangements from his Department to provide for an upgrading of two sewerage schemes (details supplied) in County Wexford. [28250/98]
I approved Wexford County Council's proposals to upgrade sewerage facilities at these locations under the second tranche of funding for the serviced land initiative. In accordance with the terms of the initiative, my Department will provide 40 per cent funding for the projects with the balance to be provided by Wexford County Council and funded primarily through development levies. It is now a matter for the council to advance the projects and payment of my Department's contribution will be made to the council as the projects are progressed, in accordance with the terms of the initiative.
