Question:

320 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 1998 sheep headage, top-up and fodder losses payments. [1307/99]

The area aid application for the person named has been processed. Payment of sheep headage grants including top up will issue on 27 January 1999. In so far as the winter fodder payment is concerned the position is that the person named is one of a small number of sheep headage applicants who were not paid a fodder supplement by 31 December 1998 because of difficulties associated with determining the overall amount of mountain grazing available to them. These cases are currently under examination with a view to making any outstanding fodder payments due as soon as possible.
