Vol. 499 No. 1

Written Answers. - Suckler Cow Quota.

Michael Creed

Question:

349 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when it is proposed to distribute the suckler cow quota from the national reserve; if an application has been received from a person (details supplied) in County Cork; if this application meets the qualifying criteria; and the quota which will be allocated. [1466/99]

An application for an allocation of suckler cow quota from the 1999 national reserve has been received from the person named. Some 4,000 farmers have applied for an allocation of suckler cow quota from this reserve. These application forms are presently been recorded and it is not possible to say at this stage what the outcome of any individual application will be. It is expected that all applicants will be informed, by the end of February, of the outcome of their applications.
