Vol. 499 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Question:

417 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a fodder scheme allowance was not paid to a person (details supplied) in County Clare in view of the fact that his herd is in the district electoral division of Boherglass. [1790/99]

To qualify under the 1998 winter fodder scheme a producer must be resident and have a herd number in one of the designated DEDs. The DEDs were designated on the basis of an examination by Teagasc of areas most affected by the bad weather.

As the person named did not fulfil this criteria he did not qualify under the winter fodder scheme 1998.
