Question:

702 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of drivers tested in each of the past five years; the pass rate for individuals taking the test for the first time; and the pass rate for people who have taken the test at least once before. [1583/99]

The information requested in relation to 1998 is set out in the following table. Information in respect of 1994, 1995, 1996 and 1997 is published in the Irish Bulletin of Vehicle and Driver Statistics for each of those years; these are available in the Oireachtas Library.
