719 Mr. Power asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will change the present system of local authority funding to a project based system rather than the demand to have all work completed in the calendar year. [1909/99]
I assume the Deputy is referring to the system of annual financial allocations which my Department uses to assist in the administration of certain capital programmes. While allocations may be adjusted in the course of a year in the light of progress on schemes, there is no over-riding requirement to complete schemes within a calendar year.
